Talc

RANDROCK operates talc mines and processing plant located at Telangana & Rajasthan in India producing high quality talc with an extremely high magnesium aluminium sulphate and low iron and extremely low alkaline impurities with nil asbestos.

Talc is a hydrated magnesium silicate. Talc deposits form from the transformation of high magnesium rocks by siliceous hydrothermal fluids. Most talc originates from the alteration of dolomite, or ultramafic intrusive rocks.

Talc is a clay mineral composed of hydrated magnesium silicate with the chemical formula
Mg3Si4O10(OH)2

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

  • Softest mineral on earth (1 on Mohs’ scale)
  • Platy, lamellar
  • Hydrophobic
  • Oleophilic (natural affinity with oils)
  • Relatively inert

RANDROCK operates talc mines and processing plant located at Telangana & Rajasthan in India.

RANDROCK operations supply consistent high-quality talc to serve pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, foods, paper, plastics, ceramics, rubber, detergents, paints & coatings, agriculturemarkets worldwide.

Talc Lumps

Raw talc is procured from approved source and government certified mines which meets our customer specification. Great care is taken during the mining process to avoid contaminating the talc with other rock materials.

Sorting the different talc ores according to their talc content and brightness is a key phase of the production process. Impurities are sometimes removed by mechanical processing. The ores are then dried, crushed and milled.

Micronised Talc

We produce Talc Powder fineness 325 mesh until 2500 mesh.

TALC FOR PAPER

OUR GRADE - 85%; 80%; 90%

Talc finds a large scale usage in the paper industry as it gives smoothness, porosity and opacity to the paper. In addition to this its also cost effective. Addition of talc to paper helps in controlling the pitch and stickies which can otherwise clog the paper machinery. Owing to its hydrophobic nature, talc absorbs the micro droplets thus controlling the stickiness of the paper.

TALC FOR PLASTICS

OUR GRADE - 95%, 97%, and 99%

Talc is finding a huge usage in the plastic industry categorically PP, HDPE, PVC, ABS and Thermosetting Compounds. With excellent thermal and electrical resistance, talc becomes an important ingredient to be used in the plastic industry. Talc also has a smooth greasy feel and is chemiclly inert which makes it viable to be used in the plastic industry. The reasons why talc is finding increased usage in this industry are :-

  1. Better chemical and heat resistance
  2. Offers dimensional stability
  3. Makes the plastic scratch resistance
  4. Offers more hardness, stiffness and tensile strength to plastic
  5. Gives electrical insulation propert

TALC FOR CERAMICS INDUSTRY

OUR GRADE - 85% - 97%

Talc is used in large quantity by the ceramics industry because talc provides better optical and mechanical characteristics of sanitary ware glazes. It acts as a fluxing agent. Talc is used in this industry for :-

  1. Wall Tiles
  2. Sanitary ware
  3. Electrical Insulating Porcelain
  4. Dinnerware

TALC FOR RUBBER

OUR GRADE - 80% - 85%

Talc is used in large quantity by the rubber industry as a partitioning agent. It helps reducing the friction.

TALC FOR DETERGENTS

OUR GRADE - 80% - 90% 500#/800#/1200#

Talc is used in the manufacturing of detergents mainly to reduce the cost. Owing to its basic property of being inet it is used as the most popular filler. Talc is also harmless to the skin.

TALC FOR PAINTS AND COATINGS

OUR GRADE - 80% - 99% 500#/800#/1200#

Talc is widely used in the paint industry owing to its platy structure. In addition to this it enhances the corrosion resistance and barrier properties. Talc has excellent absorbing capacities and hence it becomes best for reduction in VOC content. Use of talc in the paints industry is beneficial in the following ways.

  1. Reinforcement of the Paint film
  2. Reduction in the quantity of primary pigment consumed
  3. Controls gloss of paints Helps in suspending other pigments
  4. Improves durability of Paint
  5. Improves rust inhibitive properties & corrosion resistance
  6. Improves stability of emulsion paints

Sterilised Talc Powder

We produce Talc Powder fineness 325 mesh until 2500 mesh. To kill bacteria, We have our internal talc sterilization Machine. We also produce customized as per your requirement. We Produce with many grade, from medium grade to high grade.

For high grade product, we follow Talc standard, such as:

  • USP Certification Limits
  • USP & Cosmetic Manufacturer Association Limits
  • Selected USP Certification Limits & CTFA Limits

TALC FOR PHARMACEUTICALS

OUR GRADE - IP BP USP; Our Special grade - Talc HK; HKM

Highly pure, specialized and bacteria free talc is put to varied use in the pharmaceuticals industry. Owing to the softness and the crystalline platy structure talc is used as an ingredient in the manufacturing of number of pharmaceuticals products particularly tablets, ointments and dusting. Talc acts as an inert excipient in the pharmaceutical industry.

TALC FOR COSMETICS

OUR GRADE - Super King, King

Talc is one of the most important ingredient to be used in variety of cosmetics because talc is pure and free from all kind of impurities. The use of talc adds lamellarity and purity. When talc is used in body talc it acts as a perfume and in soaps it acts as a filler. When added to the soaps, talc acts as a binding agent and gives hardness to it.

TALC FOR FOODS

OUR GRADE - RRM grade; Talc 97%

Talc is used in the food industry to protect the food and ensure its quality. Talc is also added to the animal food which helps to prevent the loss of moisture from the animal feed. This ensures that the nutrients of the food is intact.
